Keep out the winter chill with this smart home thermostat.
In Canada, you can expect cold temperatures and possibly a snow storm or two in the winter months.  As a result, it’s important to have the right tools and gadgets to help keep your home warm and comfortable.
Ecobee is a smart Wi-Fi home thermostat that allows users to program temperature changes through voice activation.
Supporting a range of devices such as Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, and most recently Google Assistant, Ecobee allows users to speak directly to the device in order to control a room’s temperature.
Simply ask Ecobee to lower or higher the temperature of the room to your desired setting (i.e. raise the temperature to 75C) and the device will comply.  Using wireless remote sensors, the device is able to adjust the temperature throughout the whole house!
Alternatively you can also ask Ecobee to provide the current temperature of the room it is located in.
You are also able to save money on heating and cooling costs with Ecobee.  There are scheduled Home and Away periods where you can set the device to ensure your home is continuously heated or cooled.  If the device senses a change in the schedule (i.e. Home during the scheduled Away periods or Away during the scheduled Home periods) the device will automatically override itself to ensure comfort and maximize savings.
With built-in alerts and reminders regarding its performance and maintenance, Ecobee ensures that homeowners are alerted if anything is wrong with their device.
The latest model, Ecobee 4, currently retails at $329 CDN on their website.  You can also purchase Ecobee on, Lowe’s Canada, and The Home Depot.
