Security Awareness Training – Stay Safe!

In order to provide the best level of cyber security to our clients, we need to ensure that all elements of the technology framework – people, process, technology – are secure. At Triella, our clients rely on us to secure their IT systems by providing technology platforms that are built with multiple layers of security. Through the use of  security products such as Application Whitelisting, Two Factor Authentication, Spam Management and so on. we can also enhance the security posture for technology processes in a given firm.

The most important part of the technology framework,  often neglected, is the role people in an organization play in facilitating the success of ransomware or hacking. Firm members need to be aware of the security risks and should be familiar with best practices on how to spot and manage potential threats. More often than not, security breaches can be traced back to an employee who inadvertently did something to cause the compromise.

Ransomware and cyber attacks are constantly evolving and can only be tackled by users who are trained to identify, avoid, alert and counter cyber attacks. This is why Triella is enhancing its security training modules so clients have an increased awareness of security risks and follow best practices when using the technology around them.

New Topics

Some of the new topics covered in the security awareness modules include:

  • Information Security Threats
  • Strategies for Protection
  • Insider and Outsider Threats
  • Responding to Cyber Threats
  • Secure File Sharing
  • Browser Security
  • Strategies to Reduce Insider Threats

Training is a self-paced, web-based course, and includes weekly refreshers to keep employees cyber aware. The security training courses can be accessed through a security training portal. The courses consist of short videos (usually 5 minutes) and textual information. The courses are then followed by quiz to test the student’s knowledge of the information covered.

As a further test,  phishing emails are also sent to employees masquerading as a legitimate email. If a vulnerability is detected, the employee is directed to a phishing avoidance training module.
